Pottering around the historical centre of Florence and high up in the Montebeni hills to bring you some of my favourite Autumn photographs. With stunning colours adorning the landscape, here are the cosy October / November scenes of festive and winter preparations, along with other vistas recently captured on my battered old iPhone. The detail in many Florentine old front doors, is beautifully crafted and unique.
Meticulous restoration is being done to the stunning stone relief, no doubt ahead of the Christmas shoppers' storm!
A gorgeous 1600s castle stands confidently on the hillside, with a roman road at its foot. Owned by the 'Cassetti' family (prominent and famous in Florence as one of two licensed resellers of high luxury watches and jewellery).
This car has dominated this Florentine parking place for many years! At this point it probably has residency.
Capturing the seasonal change in colours in a local Fiesole olive grove ~ "uliveto".

The smoky seasons begins... With local olive grove owners burning the excess branches whist they're still wet, and as regulations require. A lot of fumes in the air at times.
