The rain lashed against the office windows, my toes were frozen, and across from my desk, a colleague talked about the weather. I sat there, restless, not wanting to accept this current reality whilst churning out legal wills, trusts and lasting powers documents. Deep down, something had to change!
My daughter was about to start middle school and my two sons had already left home, now living in London. The moment hit me – why not take a leap? My husband, Al, can work remotely from anywhere, so the world is at our feet. And so, we did. We made the leap to Tuscany, without one word of the language but with the need to feel life and make it a ton more meaningful. Focused on simple pleasures, nothing razzmataz.
This Blog space is a window into that slow and unfolding adventure. A firsthand look at the highs, lows, and everything in between of relocating to one of the most breathtaking and friendly cities in the world, Florence. I share stories of days out and cultural differences and the secrets and tips I’ve learned along the way, all whilst living here full-time and raising my daughter who attends school in Florence.
