Backstory as to why I moved here: The rain lashed against the office windows, my toes were frozen, and across from my desk, a colleague talked about the weather. I sat there, restless, not wanting to accept this uncomfortable daily reality of dross office-life, churning out legal wills, trusts and lasting powers documents. Deep down, something had to change!
My daughter was about to start middle school and my two sons had already left home, now living in London. The moment hit me... Why not take a leap of faith? My husband, can work remotely from anywhere. Italy has always been a place my heart felt connected to, especially Tuscany, for many reasons.
We made the leap to Florence, without any command of the language but with the need to thrive, live life better and a ton more meaningfully. Focusing on simple pleasures, nothing too razzamataz!
My Blog space on here is a window into that slow and unfolding adventure. A firsthand look at the highs, lows, and everything in between of relocating to one of the most breathtaking and friendliest cities in the world, Florence. I share stories of days out, cultural differences, uncovered local history and my metal detecting antics (with permission on private land). Plus, some secrets and tips I have learned along the way. All whilst living here full-time and raising my daughter who attends school locally in Florence.
