Florence supports Palestine and an immediate cease-fire in Gaza 🇮🇹 🇵🇸

Updated: 4 days ago

We come together to take a stand for a nation under siege and to demand an immediate ceasefire.

The image of adding black to Italy’s red, white, and green flag is a stark metaphor – symbolising the darkness overshadowing the lives of people thousands of miles away.

From our own homes, many of us bear witness to the horrors Palestinians in Gaza endure daily, the fragments of truth shown on mainstream news and the raw, courageous footage shared by independent voices who defy censorship.

Flags all over Florence symbolise the fight for saving the lives of many Palestinians from further Israeli war crimes.

Our call is simple yet urgent: a stand for justice, a demand for ceasefire. While companies like Wix.com (where this site is hosted) may be based in Israel, it is important to recognise that not all Israelis support the atrocities taking place. The reality on the ground is unbearable: children starving, families trapped, and civilians targeted while trying to collect life’s most basic essentials; food, water, medicine – life-saving support that is deliberately kept from entering, leaving people to suffer in a place relentlessly bombarded. Just horrendous, all of it, and the world unites as one voice to hold war criminals to task. They won't let me add a non-mainstream press link to this article.

We are all implicated if we don't take a stance against this atrocity.

The children play here in Settignano. They see this flag and I hope they are told what it stands for.

Flags everywhere as we witness the brutal destruction of state murder and genocide against Palestine.

We cannot stay silent while our governments sell weapons drenched in the blood of children. Every deal they make is profit carved from the bodies of the innocent, thousands whose only crime was being caught in the greed of politicians fighting over land that was once meant to be lived on in peace. It’s time to turn our anger into action and rise together to stop them.
